La Roche Modern

The Story

La Roche Modern was an off market property we scooped up from a pair of tired landlords. They were ready to get out of the rental market, and we were ready for our next project. This home had some killer features like a huge corner lot, a great Southside location, new windows and roof, roomy bedrooms, and a wood burning fireplace. It was a little (ok a lot) run down with peeling floors, a less than appealing olive green-burgundy-yellow beige paint scheme, broken doors and trim, and a massive broken jacuzzi tub. Since the vast majority of the work required was cosmetic, we knew we could turn this house around in no time. We were able to transform this home inside and out in less than 3 months!

The Design

Like many of our properties pre-renovation, La Roche Modern was lacking any defined architectural style or character. After using an industrial design with Bedford Beauty, and a traditional design with The Windsor Forest Cottage, we wanted to do something modern and fresh, with a coastal nod. We used our go to LVP flooring and paint colors, and added a modern touch with the faucets, fixtures, and matte black hardware throughout. The stained wood slat detail under the porch is one out of favorite touches. We painted the front door a pretty blue green, and carried that color inside by painting the master bathroom beadboard ceiling the same color. A new privacy fence, black mulch, and reclaimed pavers enhanced the roomy front and back yards.
